1 Live Plant White Butterfly Syngonium Arrowhead Evergreen Houseplant
White Butterfly Syngonium Arrowhead, or Syngonium Podophullym, is an elegant evergreen tropical plant with arrowed-shaped foliage, which creates an illusion of butterfly wings. There is one characteristic feature of Syngonium: a distinct vein passes along the edge of each leaf, which gives the leaf some interesting visual volume. The size, shape, surface structure and color of the foliage can vary depending on light, temperature and soil. White Butterfly Syngonium can create the atmosphere of tropics in the house as it can grow like green island climbing along the wall. The subtle color of fast-growing vine is a perfect accent to any décor. Considering the longevity of each leaf, the leaves on the same plant will appear completely different from each other, as if there are several different varieties in the same pot.
Growing conditions:
-lighting: it needs to be protected from direct sunlight. During hot season it is better to put the evergreen plant in the half-shadow, in winter it needs more light, but diffused one. Otherwise the leaves will die out from the bright sun, and wither away from the lack of light.
-watering: vine is a water-loving plant, for active growth the soil must be moistened moderately. In the hot season, watering is plentiful, in winter it should be reduced. Use soft, settled water of room temperature.
-fertilizing: fertilize the plant mainly in the spring and summer once in two-three weeks. It is better to use organic fertilizer or liquid mineral one for foliage plants with the low calcium content. In winter, the plant does not need fertilizing.
-nuances: it is recommended to mist the foliage regularly twice a day in the evening and in the morning. In order to increase the level of air humidity, put the plant into a tray with moistened clay pebbles or peat, while the water should not touch its bottom. During the growing season, the air temperature should be between 64 and 75°F. But in winter, the plant should be kept in cool place (from 60 to 64 °F). Small plants should be repotted every spring, and adult one – every two to three years, when the roots come out of the drainage hole of the pot. The juice of White Butterfly Syngonium is poisonous. In this regard, be careful during repotting of the plant.
